Undergraduate Created STEM Education Products

The STEM Educator and Student Partnership program began in 2023, designed to increase STEM literacy in the next generation of educators. This program, implemented by DRI’s STEM Education Program in partnership with The University of Nevada Las Vegas and University of Nevada Reno, partnered undergraduate students majoring in STEM topics with undergraduate students majoring in Education to address STEM gaps in Nevada K-5th grade classrooms. Over the 2023-2024 school year, STEM and Education undergraduate students were placed in pairs at a local elementary school, where they worked together under the guidance of a Teacher Mentor to identify and address a STEM gap at their placement school. Over the course of the semester, these students built on their strengths to develop STEM activities, curriculum, and virtual resources, while engaging in cross-curricular learning and knowledge sharing. We are happy to share a sample of the products online for educators to use!

This program was 100% funded by a $1,000,000 federal grant issued by the U.S. Department of Education.
