From Our President

DRI is Nevada’s non-profit research institute, founded in 1959 to empower experts to focus on science that matters. We are honored to work with communities across the state –and the world– to address their most pressing scientific questions, and we are proud that our scientists continuously produce solutions that better human and environmental health.  

DRI’s entrepreneurial scientists and engineers support their research through grants and contracts that they earn.  For every $1 in funding from the State of Nevada to support DRI’s campuses, DRI faculty bring in nearly $5 in outside grants and contracts to the Nevada economy. With more than 600 scientists, engineers, students, and staff across our Las Vegas and Reno campuses, in 2024 we conducted more than $65 million in sponsored research focused on improving peoples’ lives.
