Southern Nevada Archaeology Laboratory
Lab Description
The Archaeology Laboratory at DRI’s Southern Nevada Science Center is equipped to conduct a wide variety of studies that focus on the material culture of the Great Basin and elsewhere. DRI archaeologists and students have conducted analyses of artifacts from both prehistoric and historic sites. Activities include lithic analysis, ceramic analysis, experimental stone tool and ceramic studies, artifact conservation, and the cataloging and preparation of artifacts for placement in curation facilities.
